We are open to the public and specialize in corporate and small business accounts, schools, sports leagues as well we individual orders.
Here's a little information you might like to know regarding engraving techniques.
LASER ENGRAVING:
Laser engraving is exactly as it sounds. A laser beam burns off the top painted coating of the brass or aluminum and creates sharp, clear lettering that will stand up to the elements. We've been laser engraving here at our Northern California facility since 1996. We are the original laser engravers in Shasta County currently operating with 2 laser engraving machines to meet your engraving needs.
Some of the products we currently laser engrave are:
Aluminum
Brass
Acrylic
Wood
Certain Plastics
Leather
Corian
Glass
Crystal
and more.....
COMPUTER ENGRAVING:
Computer engraving is done by Diamond Drag, Rotary, and Burnishing techniques which require a computer to relate to and more the engraving spindle.
ROTARY ENGRAVING is mostly used when engraving plastic. It is done with a "cutter" that has a pointed V-shaped cutting edge. There is a flat spot on this cutting edge that varies in size depending on the style and size of cutter being used. How the engraver calculates the depth of the cut into the plastic will determine whether the lettering is narrow or wide.
DIAMOND DRAG ENGRAVING is engraving with a tool that has a diamond tip. The cutter is dragged across the engraving surface to create a fine line look that is clean and sharp. It is typically used on brass, aluminum, some acrylics and many gift items.
THE BURNISHING TECHNIQUE is quite similar to rotary engraving. The engraving tool skims along the surface of the metal (without cutting), creating a bolder, wider effect than if you merely use the diamond drag technique. This technique is done mostly on brass and some aluminum.
